Building Launch

What happened here.

Designed by San Diego architect Jeff Svitak and completed in 2014, 1941 Columbia St. is an 18-apartment building on a 5,000 sf lot in Little Italy, with about 13,670 sf of living space. Svitak based the design on the narrow, winding streets of Venice. The apartments are separated by carved-out open spaces that form courtyards, so each unit works more like its own home than a typical apartment, with private patios, shared courtyards, and more light and air.

Advani Realty was hired as the building’s first property manager and launched it brand new. We took the first rental applications in September 2014 and leased up the building in roughly four months. We then managed the property until our management business was sold to Mynd in 2018.

Today the building is once again managed by Advani Property Management as The Columbian.
